Michel Coursol (the name was probably Coursolle in France) came to Canada with his brother, Jacques Coursol, and his half-brother, Louis Coursol, whose mother's name was was Jeanne Paquet. Louis Coursol married M.Jeanne Marcheteau, dau of Pierre and Marg. Pilet, at Montreal, 11 jul 1723. Michel would have been ten at this wedding, so he must have come to Canada when he was eight or so. Around 1721. Jacques Coursol, his full brother, (they had the same mother, Antoinette Roux,) married Marg.-Renee Monteil, dau of Rene and Marg. Chicoine, at Vercheres, 21 apr 1727. Michel would have been fourteen in 1727. Given these dates, Michel must have come to Canada with his brothers at the age of eight or ten. His brothers had signed on as boiler-makers, though there is no record that they worked at that trade in Canada. Michel Coursol (Coursolles, etc), b. 1713 at La Flotte parish, Ile de Re, near La Rochelle, Aunis, France, son of Pierre and Antoinette Roux de la Flotte, Il de Rhe, Aunis. He married Josephte Guyon-Lemoine, dau of Joseph and Elisabeth Guillet, at Vercheres, Quebec, 25 may 1739 at age 26. Josephte Guyon-Lemoine died at Vercheres, Quebec, 6 jul 1807 at 91. Michel Coursol died by drowning 11 oct 1773 at age 60. Children: Marie Josephe, 2 apr 1740, married Pierre Brunet, son of Pierre and Jeanne Dupuy. Josephe died 1815. Marie Anne, 5 nov 1742, married Jean Poulin 25 jan 1773 at Vercheres, son of Jean and M.Louise Deneau. Elisabeth, 21 feb 1744, married Jean-Baptiste Douaire-Bondy, son of Joseph and Madeleine Campeau, at Vercheres, 16 jan 1764. Elisabeth died in 1813. Widowed, Elisabeth married Louis-Bonaventure Provencher at Becancour, Quebec, 20 feb 1775 at age 29. Marie Genevieve, 20 nov 1745. Michel, 15 mar 1747, married Josephe Malhiot. "Voyageur." Died 8 jan 1819 at 73. (Malhiot also Mayotte) Married 2 may 1782 at Vercheres. Her parents were Michel and Charine Doyon. Joseph, 15 mar 1749, died 10 jan 1759. Marie Madeleine, 23 apr 1751. Jean-Marie, 3 feb 1753, married Catherine Chevalier at Vercheres, 2 sep 1782. Catherine died 27 may 1785 at age 23. One daughter, Catherine, died in infancy 28 aug 1785. (Another document says that Jean-Marie married L. Huiller at Vercheres, 9 feb 1782.) Angelique, born ? Married Charles Bilodeau. Widowed, she married Gabriel Gosselin at Vercheres, 23 jan 1758. His parents: Joseph and Francoise Godbout. Marguerite, born? Married Antoine Roy, widower of Anne Metas at Assomption.
